HuaHinExpats.Co (“HuaHinExpats.Co”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Surf Pacific LLC, a company incorporated in Nevada, USA. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use this website.

We take your privacy seriously. We collect only what we need, we don’t sell your data, and we tell you clearly what we do with it.

  • Contact form submissions name, email address, and message content
  • Business enquiry forms name, email address, and message sent to a listed business
  • Review submissions display name, email address, star rating, and review text
  • Listing claim requests name, email address, phone number, and your relationship to the business
  • Newsletter sign-ups email address (if a newsletter service is enabled)

Information collected automatically

  • IP addresses logged for security purposes (rate-limiting abuse, spam prevention). Not retained beyond 30 days except where required for fraud investigation.
  • Browser and device information collected anonymously via analytics to help us understand how the site is used (browser type, screen size, country)
  • Pages visited and time on site via Google Analytics (see Third-Party Services below)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to contact form and enquiry submissions
  • To process and moderate review submissions
  • To process and verify business listing claim requests
  • To prevent spam and abuse (rate limiting, honeypot checks)
  • To improve the site through aggregated, anonymous analytics
  • To send newsletters if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling.

We currently use or may use the following third-party tracking services:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) anonymous usage analytics. Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out via Google’s opt-out tool.
  • Google Fonts fonts served from Google’s CDN; Google may log your IP. We aim to self-host fonts where possible to avoid this.

We do not currently use Meta (Facebook) Pixel or other advertising trackers. If this changes, this policy will be updated.

4. Email Storage

Email addresses submitted via our forms are stored in our WordPress database, hosted within our Local WP server environment. Emails submitted for newsletter sign-up are stored with our email service provider. We do not share email addresses with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

This site links to external businesses and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites. When you click an affiliate link or visit a listed business website, their own privacy policy applies.

We participate in affiliate programmes (see our Affiliate Disclosure). Affiliate partners may use cookies to track referrals. These cookies are set when you click an affiliate link, not when you visit our site.

6. Data Retention

  • Contact form messages retained for up to 12 months, then deleted
  • Review submissions retained indefinitely as part of the directory record; you may request removal (see Your Rights below)
  • Listing claim data retained for the duration of the claim relationship
  • IP address logs retained for up to 30 days for security purposes
  • Analytics data retained per Google’s standard Analytics retention settings (14 months by default)

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located. You may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access request a copy of personal data we hold about you
  • Correction request that inaccurate data be corrected
  • Deletion request that we delete your personal data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Objection object to certain types of processing
  • Portability request your data in a portable format
  • Withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent (e.g. newsletter), you can withdraw at any time

These rights apply to users in the European Union (GDPR), United Kingdom (UK GDPR), and other jurisdictions with applicable privacy laws. We honour reasonable data requests from all users regardless of location.
