Opening a Bank Account as an Expat
Most Thai banks require a Non-Immigrant visa (not tourist visa), a passport, and proof of address to open an account. KBank and Bangkok Bank tend to be most accessible for foreigners. See our full guide: How to Open a Bank Account in Hua Hin.
ATMs and Fees
Most ATMs accept international cards (Visa, Mastercard). Thai banks charge a fixed fee of 220 THB per withdrawal for foreign cards. To reduce fees, use wise.com or Revolut cards that refund ATM fees, or make fewer, larger withdrawals. See our Banking & Money guide for full advice.
Money Exchange
For currency exchange, dedicated exchange booths (SuperRich, Vasu Exchange) typically offer better rates than bank counters. Several are located near the beach road and Night Market.
