When you first arrive in Hua Hin, staying in short-term accommodation while you look for a long-term rental makes a lot of sense. It gives you time to explore different neighbourhoods, understand the rental market, and avoid making a hasty decision on a year-long lease.

What to Expect

Short-term accommodation in Hua Hin generally means hotel rooms, serviced apartments, or monthly-rate guesthouses. Quality ranges widely. For a comfortable base while you settle in, budget around 800 to 1,500 THB/night for a decent air-conditioned room with good Wi-Fi. Monthly rates for serviced apartments (bills included) typically run 15,000 to 30,000 THB/month.

Best Areas to Base Yourself

  • Central Hua Hin: Walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Most convenient for getting a feel for the town.
  • Khao Takiab area: Quieter, more residential. Good if you want a more local experience.

Booking Platforms

Booking.com, Agoda, and Airbnb all have good coverage of Hua Hin accommodation. Agoda tends to have the strongest selection of Thai properties and often has competitive rates for the region.

Negotiating Longer Stays

For stays of 1 to 3 months, contact properties directly. Many will offer a significantly reduced monthly rate compared to the per-night booking rate online. This is particularly true for smaller guesthouses and serviced apartment buildings.
