International rental companies (Avis, Budget, Hertz) have branches in Hua Hin alongside local operators. Local rental shops typically offer lower rates for longer periods. A compact car typically costs 700 to 1,200 THB per day including basic insurance. Requirements:

• Valid driving licence from your home country (IDP recommended but often not checked for short rentals)
• Passport
• Credit card for deposit

Motorbike Rental

Motorbikes (100cc, 150cc automatics) are widely available for 200 to 350 THB per day. Helmets are legally required and most rental shops provide them. Riding a motorbike in Thailand carries real risks, road conditions, unfamiliar traffic patterns, and the consequences of accidents (particularly regarding insurance and medical costs) should be considered carefully before choosing this option.

Songthaew and Tuk-Tuk
