There are no direct long-haul flights to Hua Hin. All international arrivals land at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) or Bangkok Don Mueang (DMK), then travel overland to Hua Hin. Planning your flight itinerary means choosing the right Bangkok airport and allowing enough time for the onward journey.
Which Bangkok Airport?
- Suvarnabhumi (BKK): The main international airport. Most long-haul flights arrive here. About 3 to 4 hours to Hua Hin by road.
- Don Mueang (DMK): Budget airline hub (Thai AirAsia, Nok Air, etc). Mostly domestic and regional routes. About 3.5 to 4.5 hours to Hua Hin.
If flying in from a regional hub (Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong), Don Mueang often has cheaper options on budget carriers. For long-haul from Europe, the UK, or Australia, Suvarnabhumi will be your arrival point.
Long-Haul Routes to Bangkok
Bangkok is well-served by most major carriers. From the UK, return flights to Bangkok cost roughly £500 to 900 for economy depending on the season and how far in advance you book. Carriers include Thai Airways, British Airways, Emirates, Qatar, Etihad, and Singapore Airlines (via Singapore).
From Australia, flights run roughly AUD 700 to 1,400 return with carriers including Qantas, Thai Airways, and budget options via regional hubs.
